Bruce Conservation

We are delighted to announce that the River Lochy Hydro Scheme Community Benefit which distributes fund from the River Lochy Hydro project near Dalmally has supported the Friends of St Conan’s Kirk with our plans to repair, restore and conserve the Robert the Bruce effigy which is in the Bruce Chapel. This grant will cover the majority of the cost of the conservation works needed. We are hoping to arrange conservation over Summer 2019. The conservation will include repair and treatment of the wooden figure and alabaster hands and face.
