Dominating the west wall above the organ is the stunning Rose Window. This is a wonderful example of painted glass and was was the work of Walter Campbell’s sister, Helen Douglas Campbell, done in the Victorian style
The framework of the window is wood and sadly the original did not fair well in the Argyll weather and we were close to losing the window completely. However, due to the donations from visitors, local businesses and the community we were able to replace the entire frame, using local craftsmen, and reset the 71 cherubs back in their place of glory.
We also added an external clear barrier to protect the window from the elements!
St Conan’s Kirk requires ongoing maintenance and it is through donation that we are are able to maintain and improve this building and keep it open for the public to enjoy. So if you are able, please use one of the following links to donate by text message.
