Heritage Open Day

October 5, 2025

Today, despite the best efforts of Storm Amy, saw us open the Kirk for our annual Heritage Day.

The programme included:

Displays and tours explaining the benefits the new grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund will bring

Our new exhibition featuring Princess Louise and her work as an artist

A fun animation demo

A chance to relax and enjoy the ambience sitting in the chancel with hot drinks and homebaking

We were also delighted to welcome the children of Taynuilt Youth Pipe Band who treated us to a fantastic selection of tunes at intervals throughout the day.

In addition, the children from the Pipe Band came along to learn about the planned children’s guide to St Conan’s that is under development. Using the software, they produced a somewhat dubious version of the classic song “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”! The software using a camera to map the childrens movement to the characters while their voices are being recorded.

We simply could NOT leave it off the website!
