Here in St Columba’s Aisle, if you look up, you will see the arched roof beams. On closer inspection, you’ll notice that at the base of each corbel (pillars) are a series of beautifully carved Angels peeking out from behind vertical supports.
Below each Angel are some words, which, when read in the correct order become the text from Psalm 91:11.
“For he will give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.“
