What a fantastic way to round off this season’s series of Community Singing in St Conan’s!
Stephen Williams led everyone through a rousing list of well-known and loved songs. With Miriam Harden on piano and wonderful solo singing and harmonising, the kirk positively pulsed with musical energy!
500 Miles, Sweet Caroline, Build me up Buttercup, Africa, Super Trooper and He’s got the Whole World in his Hands, all proved very popular. To judge how well everyone had improved in the course of the afternoon, the singers were asked to choose one song to sing again. Super Trooper won this vote. It sounded good at the start of the afternoon but was fantastic second time through as can be heard in the video.
Many thanks to all who have been involved in this great community event in 2025: Stephen, Miriam, the children who have sung and played, adult soloists, everyone who has come along to take part, all those who set up the kirk each time, who served the teas and, of course, our generous home bakers.
We’re delighted to say that a 2026 series is already under discussion.
