Dalmally Primary Come to Plant

June 16, 2026

On Tuesday afternoon we welcomed a group of 11 young gardeners from Dalmally Primary, together with their Headteacher Mrs Sinclair and another staff member.

Regular supporters of our garden projects, this year the pupils brought along a selection of plants to restock the sensory planters which they set up last year, and also a selection of bee-friendly plants. The sensory planters are down on the lower lochside terrace. The bee-friendly plants were arranged in two large terracotta pots. Currently these are in the Cloister but may be moved around later to bring a colourful splash to a fresh area. We will keep watching for the bees!

After the planting the pupils enjoyed a drink of juice, some grapes and a chocolate biscuit. Then there was just time for a quick look to see how the ivy planted last year was doing. The ivy is part of (what will eventually be) a green screen hiding the bins and oil tank.

Thank you to Dalmally Primary for your help today. We’re looking forward to seeing how the plants develop over the coming summer season.
