Thank-you Rab and Janet for a delightful concert; a perfect way to relax on a June afternoon!
This Oban-based acoustic duo took us on an adventure through melodic musical landscapes inspired by the
traditions of Scotland, Europe and beyond.
Rab Woods (guitars, cittern, vocals) and Janet Lees (fiddle) played lively original music and traditional songs, performed with a Scottish accent. The acoustics of St Conan’s allowed this lyrical music to be fully appreciated. The audience thoroughly enjoyed having this great chance to hear this talented duo before they appear at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
The recital, lasting up to one hour, was followed by hot drinks and home baking. Since you ask, the cakes on this occasion were: lemon buttercream sponge, tiffin, fresh cream meringues, school sponge and carrot cake. Tables had been set out for tea with white cloths and fresh flowers. We were happy to see that nearly everyone stayed for a while to chat and mingle.
It was a lovely afternoon and we wish Rab and Janet every success at the Fringe!
