What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
We were delighted to welcome Marek back to St Conan’s playing several of his own compositions including the lovely Scotland, together with Journey, Kerrera and Hope. Also featured was his improvisation on Chopin’s Mazurka, op.7 no.1.
Quietly listening provided a wonderful opportunity to relax, forget about the day-to-day and to simply engage with Marek’s highly accomplished delivery.
It was great to see so many in the audience despite the event coinciding with the only dry day this week. Definitely the sign of a popular performer!
The recital was followed by a Cream Tea. Many took the opportunity to sit, chat and catch up over their hot drink and scone.
Marek has played in St Conan’s twice before. First in 2017 and then again in 2021. We were all rather aghast to realise that so much time had passed since his last visit! While appreciating that his popularity puts him in great demand, we are determined to ensure that Marek will be back to play in the near future.
