Bruce Effigy Conservation Completed

September 18, 2019

In August the conservation of the Robert the Bruce effigy at St Conan’s Kirk was completed. Three weeks of professional conservation work has returned him to his original glory with the cracked wood, decades of dirt and his alabaster face and hands restored. The work was carried out by the team from Graciella Ainsworth Stature Conservation and we have to thank the River Lochy Hydro Electric Scheme Community Benefit Fund whose £5,000 grant award funded the majority of the this important work. Additional funding was provided by The Friends of St Conan’s Kirk from their fundraising.
