Today we had our first Heritage Open Day where we shared our plans around community engagement and improving access and opportunity by opening up The Crypt, the Bruce Basement, installing better disabled toilets, adding new lighting, making the building more accessible and encouraging new community club activity as well as a programme of affordable events.
Our exhibition area showed information on development area, activity plan and community engagement with illustrative photographs and plans.
Throughout the day there were guided tours around Walters chapel, The Bruce and the crypt. In addition we had a demonstration on how our Stained Glass windows are being restored.
All this was done with the support of the team and plenty of tea, coffee and cake!
