Planters in Bloom!

In early June our wonderful volunteers from Castlewood Croft came along to plant up 4 planters which they have made for the Kirk grounds over the last two years. This year they painted them all pale grey. (see earlier news post of June 10th)

The plants have had two months to grow up in very mixed weather. Sometimes, as currently, there have been hot, dry spells while at other times the rain has been been torrential with strong winds. Would the plants have survived?

Today Elspeth, Robert, Soldis and Dave came back to find out!

We were delighted to reveal that the planters have done amazingly well! The planters are on the lochside lower terrace, a beautiful spot with views up and down the loch. Sheltered by the granite wall and with some small trees nearby, they have been protected from extremes of weather and have thrived. The flowers all look lovely against the grey stone and add colour and interest to this delightful, peaceful spot.
