Remembrance Service

November 10, 2024

Today the local community gathered at St Conan’s to honour those who served and sacrificed in the line of duty. The annual Remembrance Service, held on the eve of Armistice Day, brought together residents of all ages to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers of both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.

The service was marked by a solemn atmosphere, with the community coming together to reflect on the sacrifices made for peace and freedom.

Local veterans, alongside members of the public, laid wreaths at the church’s war memorial, a moving gesture that honoured the bravery of those from the area who had fought and died for their country. The event was attended by families, schoolchildren, and older generations, some of whom had personal ties to those remembered on the war memorial.
