The Campbells and The Bruce

Earlier this month, John Kirkland of Orbitalflyers visited the kirk to, with permission, make a video for YouTube telling the story of St Conan’s. Weaving together the many historical strands, John tells the story of how the kirk came to be here in Lochawe, why the Bruce is so very relevant to the area and suggests how this led to the long held prominence of the Campbells of Argyll.

The weather on the shoot days was pretty dreich but allows the kirk to look moody and magnificent: very much complementing the unfolding narrative.

A licensed drone operator, John shot some really creative footage, capturing very interesting views and angles.
