Today we had great fun working in the garden with our friends from Castlewood Croft.
We were delighted to welcome Soldis on her first visit and to welcome back Elspeth, Robert and Dave together with Anna.
This is the second year that the Castlewood team have helped to make the garden look lovely for spring and summer.
Back in late April, they brought us two more planters to add to the collection of three which they made and brought last year. These planters are made of reclaimed wood. That April day we painted them all a shade of pale grey: the five planters all look very smart!
Meanwhile, Karen, one of the Garden and Grounds Volunteer Group, had been growing up annuals from plugs. Karen brought them all along today. Once the planters were moved down to the lower front terrace, the Castlewood team set about planting them up with begonias, verbena, cineraria, busy lizzies and trailing lobelia.
The plants are still quite small but in another 4 weeks or so they will look beautiful.
We hope that the Castlewood team will come back later in the summer to see the fruits of their hard work!

And here a fun little video of the team creating the planters for us! Wonderful job guys!
